1]If you want to keep the Windows XP Service Pack, it is safe to delete the uninstall files.These may be hidden files.
2]To view:Go to C:\WINDOWS>TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS>VIEW>"Show hidden files and folders">OK
3]Go to C:\WINDOWS and delete "$NTServicePackUinistall$"
4]Open Add/Remove Programs>delete the shortcut[xp sp2]
5]Delete uninstall files( "$NTUninstall********")for the updates in the same way.
6]The file "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" may also be safely deleted
7]But NEVER delete "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles".
